New layout finally complete!

Well, I've finally completed my latest layout of my site, and with that, every thing is now based off CSS. I think I've found a really workable plan and layout, and I decided to complete everything this time before putting anything live on the web. I've redone thumbnails for images, and even though I still need to create thumbnails for the web graphics page, that's easily done. I'm just happy the whole process is complete finally.

One a related noted, I've redone the linkage to any signatures that I've ceated and was hosting for people. Now, instead of using images/sigs/filename.jpg, they can just use sigs/filename.jpg to make things easier. Same thing for files I'm hosting as well.

Cleaning things up

I've cleaned up the blog it! page a bit, and archived the older news. Not that there's been much to worry about, since updates have been spotty, but the page was getting a bit long, and I hate excessive scrolling while trying to read a page. So, any news blurbs I posted during May, June and July can now be found here.

Wow, September already.

Well, how time flies. The rugrats are finally going back to school, and summer is more or less over. Sheesh, I can't believe it.

What am I doing? I'm still working on the new site design. I've settled on the look, and have the code working like a charm - and both the html and css validate! Yea! Stupid 50megs sticks some bogus tracking code at the bottom of each of my pages though, and that doesn't validate, so it's bugging me. More and more I'm thinking about getting my own domain, but I've just not done it yet.

I'm working on converting all my pages over to the new layout this time, so that is going to take some serious work on my part, but I'm determined to do this. Once I'm done though, it'll be so much easier to update the entire site by simply changing my CSS, instead of having to do a ton of other manual labor.

Other than working, things are slow and boring. Isn't life grand?

What's this? An Update? *gasp*

Well, I'm finally working on a new site design, but it'll be a while before I get it up. I'm taking my time on this one, and planning on using as much CSS as possible. I'll also be converting the entire site over to this (including all the old lingering pages that I've never updated before).

I'm revising the banners over at Grimwell Online. The previous ones done by Dark Dryad were made for the default (and at the time, only) theme that we had, which was green text on black background. Since Selby figured out how to have the site theme key off the forum ones, we have many more options available, and the green/black banners just don't fit very well. I'm reworking them and adding some new ones that DD came up with. He's the guy with all the good and funny ideas there, I just add the pretty.

Work is busy. Finally switched to a new project, and even though it's at the same client I just spent the past year onsite with, it's nothing like the previous project. I'm actually functioning as the project manager assistant, and doing things, not screwing around with stupid trouble tickets and bullshit reports. Yea! I finally feel like I'm doing what I was hired for almost 2 years ago.

Still playing L2 for now, and it's enjoyable, which is what I pay to play a game, isn't it? Shadowbane though, has started yet another "come back to play" campaign, so my accounts have been reactivated for free for the next 15 days. I'm thinking I just might have to patch and check things out. There are still a few die-hard HoS members playing, even though the guild chapter no longer officially exists. They are saying good things have been done and needed changes were made. I'll take a look-see and see what I think.
